If you have bought a bar code scanner from Jellyfish, you will be receiving a Symbol CS 4070 scanner. The CS 4070 Scanner is compatible with Jellyfish, so you can scan your items on the go! To get your scanner set up, read the instructions below.
Once you receive your CS 4070 Scanner it is important to charge the battery first by using the micro USB cable or the cradle unit until all four green charging LED lights are lit. This will take approximately 3 hours.
Once the device is charged it is ready to be set up.
First Turn on the Symbol CS 4070 scanner by pressing the "+" button.
Next, you will need to ensure the device is clear of any previous data. With the device hold to "+" button and scan the bar code labeled "Reset Factory Defaults"
The scanner will then beep three times. This will indicate that the scanner has successfully been reset to its default form.
Next, scan the appropriate bar code to allow the Bluetooth scanner to work with your mobile phone.
Note: For Apple - Scan the Bluetooth Profile "Bluetooth MFi_SSI" Barcode
For Android - Scan the Bluetooth Profile "Bluetooth SPP" Barcode
The device will again beep three times indicating you have scanned bar code correctly.
Once you have scanned your corresponding bar code, from your mobile device go to your Bluetooth settings and scan for devices.
It is important to click the Bluetooth button on your scanner to allow it to search for your mobile device.
Once the available devices load on your mobile phone you should see the "CS4070" followed by the MAC Address found on the back of your CS4070 device.
Once you have successfully connected your phone to the scanner, you will then scan the "Clear Data" bar code.
Scan the "Clear Data" bar code to ensure any possible previous data is removed from your CS 4070 Bluetooth Scanner.
After you have completed scanning the "Clear Data" bar code log into your Jellyfish Retail account.
Once you have logged in, from the home page click the 3 lines on the top left of your screen for the Main Menu.
From there, scroll down until you see "System Settings" then select.
You will then be prompted to this screen:
Click on "Connect Scanner"
A message should populate on your mobile device asking if you wish to pair with the Bluetooth scanner. If you did NOT receive this message. start the process over.
Note: If you click "Connect Device" and it does not connect make sure you click the Bluetooth button on the scanner and that the blue light is blinking above the Bluetooth button. If it is not, the scanner likely went to sleep. Just wake it up by pressing the Bluetooth button on the device.
Now you are ready to start scanning when placing orders within Jellyfish!
